Join us in celebrating Refugee Week from the 15th June - 19th June, for the first time on our digital events platform. Feed your imagination by attending a meditation workshop, discovering a new cuisine, or taking part in a discussion around entrepreneurship through adversity, and much more.Â
In a spirit of sharing we are opening up the week's events to members and non-members: let’s come together to learn, discuss and embrace the Refugee culture brought from around the world!
We have designed the week with our partners, the UNHCR (UN Refugee Agency) and TERN (The Entrepreneurial Refugee Network). Both are incredible supporters of the refugee cause and major actors of change. Here’s how you can help:

Â
I came to the UK at the end of 2017, after escaping political persecution for my human rights work in Syria. Away from home without family and friends, I found comfort in feeding the people I lived with. For me, cooking was a way to promote Syria and integrate into society.
I am now on a mission to use my cooking, through classes and catering as I started my own business a year ago, but also to raise the awareness of the Syrian humanitarian crisis.Â
I was imprisoned in 2015 for helping to feed displaced people arriving in my city from other parts of Syria: I used to smuggle bread to the besieged arias to feed people even though this threatened my life. I couldn’t watch them starve.
